Welcome to the Kansas City PRIDE Democratic Club

We are the fastest-growing political club in Kansas City. Our broad-based membership is inclusive and open to all persons, regardless of sexual orientation, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, creed or ability. We seek to build coalitions among a broad range of Democratic and progressive groups and reach out to all persons and organizations interested in the ideals of human rights and social justice for all persons.

Our organization is membership-driven, meaning that decisions on which candidates to endorse in local, state and national elections and other matters are made by the entire membership. All KC PRIDE members have an equal voice in making decisions for the club.

Since our inception, KC PRIDE has actively participated in: Screening and endorsing LGBT-supportive candidates; Speaking out on issues of human rights; Leading the effort to bring together other LGBT groups and straight allies in support of domestic partnership issues; Working to build coalitions with other Democratic and progressive organizations in support of human rights and social justice issues; Taking part in community-wide events and forums; Participating in the Kansas City Police Task Force resulting in the effort to recruit openly LGBT police officers; Hosting events for the candidates and office-holders we support

KC PRIDE invites candidates to club-sponsored forums. Members can hear the candidates' positions and visit with them about specific concerns. This helps candidates get to know our community's issues—and helps us get to know them. We welcome your participation at KC PRIDE Democratic Club!
